Lorraine Gehrig Mullins, LCSW

Lorraine is a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years experience. She earned her Masters degree at NYU, and a supervision certification through Rutgers. She also holds a personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Her education and experience reflects a dedication to the relationship between physical, emotional and spiritual health.

Through her career, Lorraine has had the privilege of working with individuals, youth and families in non-profit organizations and a wide-range of community based settings. Most recently, she collaborated with school teams to develop in-district mental health programs across Northern NJ. She has experience providing mental health counseling for children, adolescents and families who are struggling with school-related challenges, including anxiety, depression and school avoidance. From a fitness and wellness lens, Lorraine also has expertise providing mental health therapy for individuals who would like to master a life stage, overcome challenging emotions, improve body image and/or gain the confidence to achieve their goals.

Lorraine has completed advanced training in evidenced based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She also has advanced training in women’s emotional health and fitness through life stages including prenatal, postnatal and the menopause transition.

Lorraine’s therapeutic style is collaborative, goal oriented and strengths based. Regardless of age or life stage, sessions provide clients with space to define desired outcomes, explore past success, listen to the wisdom of physical and emotional signs and symptoms, and practice new ways of relating to self and others. For youth and families, this will likely include strategies done together to achieve success outside of the office
