Post-Partum Services

Although the birth of a baby is often highlighted as a time of pure joy, it can be one of the most challenging times in a woman’s life. Women of various races, ethnicities, socio-economic status, educational backgrounds, and ages are all can be affected by post-partum depression (PPD) and anxiety. Individual and Group Therapy has been shown to be effective in reducing the numerous symptoms associated with PPD and anxiety.

These symptoms include:

  • Feelings of hopelessness and helpless
  • Constant worry about the baby
  • Inability to care for self
  • Insomnia
  • Intense feelings of shame and guilt
  • Feeling out of control
  • Frequent bouts of crying
  • Irritability
  • Loss of interest in activities
  • Feeling disconnected from the baby

At Mindful Power we offer both individual counseling focused on the treatment for Post-Partum as well as a Monthly Post- Partum Support Group.
